Yorkshire Pudding Day

25th January 2021

Since 2007, the first Sunday in February has been marked as Yorkshire Pudding Day, a day set aside to celebrate the beauty of the humble Yorkshire pudding!

This year’s Yorkshire Pudding Day falls on Sunday 7th February, and we’re ready to help you celebrate!

The origins of the Yorkshire pudding

The recipe for the Yorkshire pudding dates back to the 1700’s, and Yorkshire puddings were actually originally known as ‘dripping puds’, as they were traditionally cooked over an open fire, causing the juices to drip down!

A light, airy and delicious savoury pudding, the Yorkshire pudding is now made from egg, flour and milk, and for many people, it’s an essential component of the perfect roast dinner!
